Najaden af Halmstad
HMS Najaden
Sailing warship in Western Sweden used as a museum since 1946. Built in 1897 at Karlskrona, Sweden. The ship was built of pine on steel frames and are together with the Cutty Sark and City of Adelaide, the only composite-built full-rigged ships, which still remains.
Since beginning of 2011 the work of restoring and renovating the Najaden have been intense. The steel frames have been repaired and all interior was taken away when the work of replacing the deck startet. All beams was protected from rust and bow was renovated. All in cooperation with Gyllenborg Rigg, Hardanger Fartoyvernsenter and Society Najadens Vänner according to original drawings from 1897.
